Kevin became a licensed associate realtor for the Saginaw Board of Realtors soon after graduating from high school and a licensed real estate broker in Michigan after graduating from college.

 

He graduated in the top five percent of his college class, receiving several honors for academic achievement, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.  He earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University where he was awarded numerous academic honors, graduating in the top five of his class, winning oratory competitions, and serving as editor-in-chief of its law review.

 

He joined the real estate department at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, one of Michigan's most respected law firms, and then accepted a position and became a partner and shareholder with Miro, Miro, and Weiner, a premier law firm with offices in Michigan and New York.

 

He negotiated and prepared documentation on many sophisticated and complex transactions, ranging from real estate and business acquisitions to corporate buyouts.

 

He assisted the Michigan National Bank in the placement of a multi-million dollar loan to help finance the construction of The Palace, the home of the Detroit Pistons' basketball team.

 

He has spoken at many colleges and universities throughout the country, is a member of numerous sports, business and law associations, and sits on several corporate boards.  Kevin also teaches sports law at Wayne State University’s graduate school in Detroit, Michigan.

 

Kevin has recently published his family history, entitled “A Mustard Seed of Faith and The Grace of God: My Family from American Slavery into the Early 21st Century.”

 

He lives with his wife, daughter, and two sons in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
